About CUET General Test (Section III)

The CUET General Test (Section III) is one of the most widely attempted sections in CUET UG, required by most Central Universities for admission to BA Programme, B.Com (Programme), BBA, and multi-disciplinary undergraduate courses. The paper has 60 questions and candidates must attempt any 50, with +5/−1 marking and a 60-minute time limit.

The General Test covers three areas: Quantitative Aptitude — Number System, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Time-Speed-Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Algebra, Geometry & Mensuration, Modern Maths (Permutation, Probability, Set Theory), and Trigonometry; Logical Reasoning — Arrangements & Groupings, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Series (Number & Letter), Visual Reasoning, Odd One Out, Clocks & Calendars, Puzzles, Critical Reasoning, and Statement-Assumptions-Arguments; General Knowledge— Indian History, Indian & World Geography, Indian Constitution & Polity, Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Economics, and Current Affairs.

How to Use the CUET General Test Mocks

  1. Attempt Mock 01 without preparation to establish a baseline score across Quant, Reasoning, and GK.
  2. Review the score breakdown after each mock to identify which of the three areas needs most work.
  3. Before the next mock, spend focused time on the weakest area using topic-wise notes.
  4. Practise using the question palette — skip time-consuming Quant questions first, answer GK and Reasoning, then return.
  5. Aim to improve accuracy (reduce negative marks) rather than just attempting more questions.
