IBPS PO recruits Probationary Officers (scale 1 officers) who are in a managerial cadre. IBPS Clerk recruits Clerical Cadre (Junior Associates) who handle customer-facing banking operations. PO has better growth prospects and higher pay, while Clerk has easier eligibility and a larger number of vacancies.

Is there an interview for IBPS Clerk?+

No. IBPS Clerk has only two stages — Preliminary and Mains exam. There is no interview. Final selection is based entirely on Mains performance and a state/language proficiency requirement.

What is the IBPS Clerk salary?+

IBPS Clerk basic pay starts at approximately Rs. 19,900 per month under the 11th Bipartite Settlement. With allowances (DA, HRA, TA, Medical), the gross CTC is approximately Rs. 4–5 lakhs per annum.
